Archiving Policy
The Uzbek Journal of Law and Digital Policy (UJLDP) is committed to maintaining the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published scholarly content. The Journal maintains digital preservation arrangements designed to protect published articles and associated publication records against accidental loss, technical failure, or interruption of access.
1. Scope of Digital Preservation
This Policy applies to the Journal's published scholarly content, including published articles and the associated bibliographic and publication metadata maintained within the Journal's online publishing system.
The preservation of published content is intended to ensure that articles remain accessible and identifiable as part of the Journal's published scholarly record.
2. Digital Backups
UJLDP maintains digital backups of its published content and essential publication data. Backup copies are maintained separately from the primary online publication environment to reduce the risk of permanent data loss resulting from server failure, technical malfunction, or other unforeseen events.
Backup arrangements are reviewed periodically to support the continued availability and integrity of the Journal's published content.
3. Preservation of Published Articles
The Journal takes reasonable technical measures to preserve the full text of published articles and their associated bibliographic metadata.
Published articles are maintained in the Journal's online publishing system and are preserved in accordance with the Journal's applicable digital preservation arrangements.
4. Digital Preservation Services
Where UJLDP participates in recognized third-party digital preservation services, the Journal may deposit its published content and associated metadata with such services to provide an additional preservation mechanism.
The Journal may use recognized preservation systems, including CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, the PKP Preservation Network, or other appropriate digital preservation services, where such services are available and actively implemented by the Journal.
Information concerning active preservation services may be updated periodically as the Journal's digital preservation arrangements develop.
5. Persistent Identification
Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The DOI provides a persistent identifier for the article and facilitates its continued identification and retrieval independently of changes to the Journal's website structure.
The Journal seeks to maintain accurate bibliographic metadata associated with each DOI and published article.
6. Continuity of Access
UJLDP will take reasonable measures to restore access to published content following a technical interruption, system failure, or other event affecting the Journal's online publication platform.
Where temporary interruption occurs, the Journal will seek to restore access to the affected content as soon as reasonably practicable.
7. Preservation of Publication Integrity
Published articles shall not ordinarily be altered after publication in a manner that changes their substantive content without an appropriate editorial basis.
Where a published article requires correction, withdrawal, or other post-publication action, the Journal shall handle the matter in accordance with its applicable editorial policies.
8. Archiving and Repository Policies
This Policy governs the digital preservation of the Journal's published content and should be distinguished from the Journal's Repository Policy, which governs the deposit and sharing of published articles by authors.
The Journal's Repository Policy does not replace or modify the Journal's digital preservation arrangements.
9. Policy Review
UJLDP shall periodically review its digital preservation arrangements and may adopt additional preservation services or technical measures where appropriate to strengthen the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published scholarly content.
